Corrosion Control and Metals Release

Confluence has been involved in a wide array of corrosion control and metals release-related projects ranging from prevention and mitigation of discolored water events to process selection for achieving optimal corrosion control under the US EPA Lead and Copper Rule.

We have developed detailed desk-top modeling and field protocols to understand corrosion and metals release risks associated with introduction of new sources, blending of different sources, changes in finished water quality associated with modified treatment practices, and changes in secondary disinfectant residuals. Microbial, chemical, and physical factors are considered when diagnosing water quality issues and recommending optimal corrosion control parameters.

Members of the Confluence team have worked with dozens of utilities across North America to identify and select optimal corrosion control treatment while maintaining simultaneous compliance with other Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.
