Legionella Risk Management

Legionella is a growing concern in building and industrial water systems due to many factors. Confluence’s team is expert in helping clients understanding how to best manage microbial water quality risks that include Legionella and others. Confluence staff have aided several hospital/healthcare and other facility clients prevent, manage and respond to Legionella detections (and other pathogens such as Pseudomonas) in the US and abroad.

What makes us unique is our expertise in water system regulatory aspects, distribution system / plumbing issues and controls (such as disinfection and other treatment), practical knowledge of microbial re-growth kinetics, facility engineering and operations experience, and experience in developing customized Legionella risk management plans that not only meet industry guidelines but also can control other microbial pathogens and protect against non-microbial issues (such as lead or other contaminants).

Legionella risk management planning services are led by Alex Mofidi, PE. He has over 25 years of experience controlling microorganism growth in drinking water systems and has responded to Legionella outbreaks and developed Legionella risk management plans for hospitals/healthcare facilities across the United States and Australia.
